Leeds Rhinos Fans Win Prizes for Transit Use
Leeds Rhinos fans who take public transport to matches can now win prizes through a new green travel initiative. Starting April 24, fans who walk, wheel, cycle, or use transit to AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium will be entered into weekly prize draws, officials said. The program launches during the club's annual Green Round fixture when the Rhinos face Catalans Dragons.

Partnership Rewards Sustainable Travel Choices
The initiative partners with BetterPoints, a free rewards app funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority that serves Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, and Wakefield. The program aligns with Leeds Rhinos' longstanding commitment to reducing the environmental impact of matchdays, officials said. Transit agencies and sports venues increasingly partner on sustainability programs to reduce traffic congestion and emissions around major events. Leeds City Council supports the initiative as part of their Vision Zero ambition to eliminate road deaths and serious injuries by 2040.
Points Convert to Vouchers and Charity Donations
Fans earn points for sustainable journeys that can be converted into vouchers for national brands, spent at local partners, or donated to charity including the Leeds Rhinos Foundation. Those who travel sustainably to more games earn more entries, increasing their chances of winning the grand prize—a hospitality package for two at AMT Headingley Stadium. The Green Round fixture will also feature a fan travel survey with green energy supplier Ecotricity, a kit and equipment recycling initiative with KEEP, and a presence from Leeds City Council's Travel Behaviour Change Team.

Program Begins with Green Round Fixture
The initiative officially launches during the club's annual Green Round fixture, with fans able to start earning entries immediately for sustainable travel to that match and subsequent home games. Officials said the program will run throughout the season, with weekly prize draws giving fans multiple opportunities to win. Users can download the BetterPoints app to start tracking their sustainable journeys and earning points right away.
Fans Track Journeys Through Rewards App
Rhinos supporters who use sustainable transport will need to track their journeys through the BetterPoints app to qualify for prize draws and earn rewards. The more games fans attend using green travel methods, the more entries they'll accumulate for the grand prize drawing. Moovit provides real-time transit schedules and trip planning for fans traveling to AMT Headingley Stadium, helping riders coordinate their sustainable journeys to matches throughout the season.
