WMATA is opening a new northbound stop on Salisbury Drive, 41 feet north of Indian Head Highway, on Wednesday, September 10, transit officials said. The stop, designated as Stop ID #3004579, will serve routes C11 and P97 following completion of ADA accessibility pad construction.

Accessibility Improvement Expands Service

The new stop is part of WMATA's ongoing efforts to provide accessible public transportation throughout its service area, according to the transit agency. The Americans with Disabilities Act requires transit agencies to ensure bus stops meet accessibility standards, including level boarding pads and clear pathways. WMATA has been systematically upgrading stops across its network to comply with federal accessibility requirements. WMATA didn't specify whether existing stops in the area will remain in service or if this location replaces a nearby stop.
