Black Country Living Museum in Dudley named Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2025
Dudley Museum Wins Top UK Visitor Award
The Black Country Living Museum in Dudley has been named Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2025 by VisitEngland, officials announced. The Telegraph recognized the open-air museum as England's best attraction. The award comes as the museum completes its most ambitious development project with the recent opening of the historic Woodside Library to visitors.

Heritage Site Showcases Industrial Revolution History
The museum offers visitors an immersive journey through over 250 years of Black Country history, according to the attraction. More than 80 reconstructed shops, houses, and industrial workshops span the Industrial Revolution to post-war prosperity. The site's gained international recognition as a filming location for the global hit series Peaky Blinders, featuring authentic screen-used sets. Heritage attractions typically see increased visitor interest following major awards, though specific attendance figures for the museum weren't available.
Annual Pass Offers Year-Round Access
The museum offers an annual pass where visitors pay for one day and receive 12 months of free return visits, officials said. Children under 3 enter free. The attraction is open from 10am to 5pm and features various demonstrations, living history experiences, and educational programs for schools. Visitors can experience authentic sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of the Black Country's industrial heritage at the Tipton Road location in Dudley.

New Partnerships Celebrate Regional Identity
The museum has formed new partnerships with Walsall Football Club and Wednesfield FC, celebrating the shared identity and community spirit of the Black Country, according to museum representatives. The historic Woodside Library recently opened to the public, marking the completion of the museum's most ambitious development project. Officials didn't provide specific details about when the library opened or what additional features the development includes.
Visitors Can Plan Museum Trips
The award-winning attraction is located at Tipton Road, Dudley, DY1 4SQ, and operates as a registered charity. Visitors can explore the museum's extensive collection of reconstructed buildings and experience living history demonstrations throughout the day.
