SoFloGO App Unites Four Transit Systems

South Florida riders can now plan trips across four transit systems using a single mobile app, transit officials said. Broward County Transit launched the SoFloGO app, which integrates Broward County Transit, Miami-Dade Transit, Palm Tran, and Tri-Rail into one platform. The app's available for download on both the App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android devices.

Regional Integration Simplifies Cross-County Travel

The unified platform addresses a longstanding challenge for South Florida commuters who previously needed separate apps for each transit system when traveling across county lines. Transit agencies in the region have worked toward better coordination to serve riders who regularly cross jurisdictional boundaries for work, school, and other activities. The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority oversees technical support for the app, while individual agencies maintain their own customer service operations. Officials said the integration aims to make regional transit more accessible and user-friendly.

App Features Real-Time Tracking and Mobile Payments

SoFloGO offers real-time bus and train tracking, service alerts, step-by-step directions, and mobile fare payment capabilities. Fare products include regular fares, daily, weekly, and monthly passes, plus reduced fares for seniors, students, and riders with disabilities. The app supports multiple wallets, allowing users to register with the same email used for other transit apps, though each app maintains its own separate wallet and fare products can't be transferred between platforms. An internet connection's required to purchase or activate fare products, but activated tickets can be displayed offline.

Existing BCT App Remains Available

Current BCT Mobile app users can continue using the existing app, as SoFloGO serves as an additional option rather than a replacement, officials said. The agency didn't provide a timeline for whether the older app will eventually be phased out. For technical issues with SoFloGO, riders should contact the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority, while fare or service-specific questions should be directed to the respective transit agency's customer service.

Riders Gain Unified Regional Access

The app simplifies travel for commuters who regularly use multiple transit systems across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Officials said the unified platform eliminates the need to switch between different apps when planning cross-county trips. Moovit provides real-time updates and trip planning for South Florida transit systems, helping riders navigate regional connections and service changes.
