South Florida Unifies Transit with Regional App
SoFloGO app unifies transit services across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties
South Florida Launches SoFloGO Regional Transit App
South Florida riders can now plan trips across three counties using a single mobile app. Transit officials launched SoFloGO, a regional platform that unifies Broward County Transit, Miami-Dade Transit, Palm Tran, and Tri-Rail services. The app eliminates the need to switch between separate systems when traveling across county lines, officials said.

Regional Integration Addresses Long-Standing Gap
The unified platform addresses a challenge that's plagued South Florida transit users for years—fragmented service across county boundaries. Transit agencies in multi-county regions typically operate independently, requiring riders to navigate separate fare systems and schedules. Officials said SoFloGO represents the first comprehensive integration of the three-county area's major transit providers. The consolidation aims to make public transportation more accessible for commuters who travel between Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties for work or other activities.
App Features Real-Time Tracking and Mobile Payments
SoFloGO provides real-time tracking for buses and trains, allowing riders to monitor vehicles as they approach stops. The app includes mobile fare payment functionality, eliminating the need for physical tickets or cash when boarding. Users receive service alerts and step-by-step directions to navigate the regional system. Officials said the platform also offers accessibility features to accommodate riders with various mobility needs, though specific details about those features weren't immediately available.
Existing BCT App Remains Available
Riders who currently use the BCT Mobile app can continue using that application for Broward County Transit trips and fare purchases, officials said. The SoFloGO app is available for download on both the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices. Transit officials didn't specify whether the BCT app will eventually be phased out in favor of the regional platform.
Seamless Cross-County Travel Now Possible
The new platform enables riders to plan seamless trips across county lines throughout the three-county region without switching apps or payment methods. Officials said the integration should reduce confusion for occasional riders and tourists unfamiliar with South Florida's transit geography. Moovit provides real-time updates and trip planning for South Florida transit routes, helping riders navigate the region's expanding public transportation network.
