South Florida Unifies Transit with Regional App
SoFloGO app integrates four transit systems for unified trip planning across counties
South Florida Gets Unified Transit App
South Florida riders can now plan trips across four transit systems using a single mobile app. Broward County Transit launched SoFloGO, a regional platform that integrates BCT, Miami-Dade Transit, Palm Tran, and Tri-Rail services, transit officials said. The app lets riders track vehicles in real-time, pay fares from their phones, and receive service alerts across county lines.

Regional Integration Simplifies Multi-County Travel
The unified platform addresses a longstanding challenge for South Florida commuters who previously needed separate apps for each transit system. Transit agencies typically operate independently within county boundaries, requiring riders to navigate multiple fare systems and schedules when crossing jurisdictions. The SoFloGO app consolidates trip planning, real-time tracking, and fare payment for all four systems into one interface. Officials said the integration aims to make regional travel more accessible and encourage greater transit use across the tri-county area.
App Offers Mobile Ticketing and Real-Time Features
The platform supports multiple fare products including regular fares, daily passes, weekly passes, monthly passes, and reduced fares for seniors, students, and riders with disabilities. Users can purchase and activate tickets directly through the app, which requires an internet connection for transactions but displays activated tickets offline. The app provides step-by-step directions for multi-system trips and real-time vehicle tracking across all four transit networks. Officials said riders can register using the same email address they use for other transit apps, and the platform supports multiple separate wallets for different systems.

Existing BCT App Remains Available
Current BCT Mobile app users can continue using the existing platform, as SoFloGO serves as an additional option rather than a replacement. Each app maintains its own separate wallet, and fare products purchased through one app can't be transferred to the other. The app's available for download on both iOS and Android devices through the App Store and Google Play. The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority handles technical support for the app, while individual transit agencies manage fare and service-specific questions.
Riders Gain Cross-System Trip Planning
The unified app particularly benefits commuters who travel between Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties for work or other activities. Riders no longer need to switch between multiple apps to plan trips that involve transfers between systems or to check real-time arrival information across agencies. Officials said the platform simplifies the payment process for multi-county journeys. Moovit provides real-time updates and trip planning for South Florida transit systems, helping riders navigate BCT, Miami-Dade Transit, Palm Tran, and Tri-Rail routes.
