SEPTA Adds Broad Street Line Service for Phillies Opener
Philadelphia baseball fans heading to the Phillies' 2026-2027 season home opener on March 26 will have enhanced Broad Street Line service to Citizens Bank Park, transit officials said. SEPTA is adding special trains for the three-game series against the Texas Rangers starting March 26, with games also scheduled for March 28 and 29. The agency will operate both local and express service to accommodate the expected surge in ridership to NRG Station.

Two Service Options Available
SEPTA offers two types of Broad Street Line service for the games, according to the transit agency. B1 Local trains depart from Fern Rock Transit Center and make all stops to NRG Station, providing comprehensive coverage along the line. B2 Express trains, operating only for special events, make select stops to Walnut-Locust Station before continuing directly to NRG, offering faster travel times for riders boarding at express stops. Both services provide direct access to Citizens Bank Park for the opening series and subsequent games against the Washington Nationals.
Multiple Connection Points
Riders can access the Broad Street Line from several transit connections throughout the city, officials said. The Market-Frankford Line and trolley routes connect at 15th Street/City Hall Station with a free transfer to the Broad Street Line. Regional Rail passengers can reach the subway with a short walk from Center City stations. PATCO riders traveling from New Jersey can connect to the Broad Street Line at 12th/13th & Locust Street Station. The agency accepts contactless credit and debit cards, SEPTA Key Card, SEPTA Key Multi-rider for up to five passengers, cash with exact fare, Quick Trip tickets, and PATCO Freedom Share cards.

Parking and Payment Changes
All SEPTA parking lots and garages charge for daily-use parking including nights, weekends, and game days, with payment available through the SEPTA Park app, text message, or kiosks at facilities. The agency ended sales of Key Tix on March 2, with the final acceptance date set for August 28. Riders should plan to use alternative payment methods for game day travel. Officials didn't specify whether additional service modifications will be made for the subsequent series against the Nationals.
Real-Time Service Information
Baseball fans can track train arrivals and plan their trips to Citizens Bank Park using real-time service information, transit officials said. Riders should allow extra travel time on game days to account for increased crowding at stations and on trains. For service updates, customers can call 215-580-7800 or follow @SEPTA on social media.
