SEPTA Adds Broad Street Line Trains for Shows
Philadelphia's SEPTA is running extra Broad Street Line trains for Nate Bargatze's comedy shows at Wells Fargo Center on January 17-18, transit officials announced Monday. The additional service will operate before and after both 7:00 PM performances to help fans reach the venue via AT&T Station. Specific train frequencies weren't disclosed by the agency.

Standard Practice for Major Venue Events
SEPTA regularly provides enhanced service for large events at Wells Fargo Center, which seats 21,000 people, according to venue information. The transit agency operates similar additional trains for Philadelphia 76ers games, Flyers games, and major concerts at the South Philadelphia sports complex. AT&T Station, formerly known as Pattison Station, serves as the primary transit hub for the venue. Officials didn't provide ridership projections for how many comedy fans are expected to use the enhanced service.
Service Details and Capacity
The Broad Street Line typically carries 137,000 riders on average weekdays, according to SEPTA's 2019 sustainability report. Officials said the additional trains will accommodate concertgoers traveling to and from both shows but didn't specify exact timing of when extra service begins before performances or how late trains will run afterward. The enhanced service follows standard transit industry practices, with agencies like New York's MTA and Boston's MBTA providing similar accommodations for Madison Square Garden and TD Garden events.

Implementation Already Underway
SEPTA announced the enhanced service January 13, giving fans several days' notice before the first show on January 17. The second performance takes place January 18, also at 7:00 PM. Officials didn't say whether similar service enhancements are planned for other upcoming Wells Fargo Center events this winter.
Transit Option for Comedy Fans
The additional trains let attendees avoid traffic congestion and parking challenges around the South Philadelphia sports complex. Fans should use AT&T Station to access Wells Fargo Center, officials said. Moovit provides real-time Broad Street Line updates and trip planning for riders attending the shows.
