Peoria Paratransit Continues Under New Operator
WeDriveU awarded contract to operate CityLift and CountyLink paratransit services
WeDriveU Wins Peoria Paratransit Contract
Riders with disabilities in Peoria will see continued paratransit service under a new operator. WeDriveU, part of Mobico Group, has been awarded the contract to operate CityLift and CountyLink services for the Greater Peoria Mass Transit District, officials confirmed. The district served 145,000 passenger trips in 2024 and expects continued growth.

Background
The contract supports GPMTD's mission to provide safe, reliable, and high-quality transportation for people with disabilities throughout the region. Paratransit services offer door-to-door transportation for riders who can't use fixed-route buses due to mobility limitations. The services help passengers reach medical appointments, work, school, and shopping destinations. WeDriveU began operating the service at its new Peoria customer service center in December 2025.
Service Details
The new Peoria facility centralizes customer service, operations management, training, maintenance, and workforce amenities under one roof. Through CityLift and CountyLink, trained drivers provide door-to-door paratransit services for passengers with mobility needs. This award expands WeDriveU's presence in the Midwest to six Illinois customer service centers, supporting both transit agencies and private-sector customers in Chicago and throughout the state. The company operates paratransit services across the United States as part of Mobico Group.

Implementation
WeDriveU took over operations in December 2025, though officials didn't specify the contract's duration or value. Tim Wayland, Chief Commercial Officer at WeDriveU, said the company's excited about partnering with GPMTD and building on 55 years of service in the region. The transition aims to maintain continuity for existing riders while preparing for future service expansion.
Rider Impact
The partnership aims to expand services and increase customer satisfaction in Peoria and surrounding communities, according to Kofi Kisseh, General Manager of GPMTD. Kisseh welcomed WeDriveU to the team and praised their approach to attracting, developing, and retaining staff. Riders can access real-time updates and trip planning through Moovit, which provides schedule information for paratransit services in Peoria and throughout Illinois.
