Orange Line Offers $2.25 Rides to Miami Airport
Miami-Dade County's Orange Line provides budget-friendly access to Miami International Airport for just $2.25 per trip, transit officials said. The Metrorail service runs every 15 minutes between Dadeland South and Earlington Heights stations, with direct airport connections available throughout the day. Riders traveling from areas north of Earlington Heights can transfer from the Green Line to reach MIA Station.

Service Operates Seven Days Weekly
The Orange Line operates daily from 5 a.m. to midnight, offering consistent service for airport travelers and commuters alike. Miami-Dade Transit designed the route to serve as an affordable alternative to parking fees and ride-hailing services for airport access. The 15-minute frequency means riders don't need to plan around complex schedules, with trains arriving regularly throughout operating hours. Officials said the service connects major residential areas in southern Miami-Dade County directly to the airport terminal.
Multiple Payment Methods Accepted
Riders can pay the $2.25 fare using several options, including the EASY Card, GO Miami-Dade Transit app, and contactless payment methods at station fare gates. Transit officials said the variety of payment options aims to streamline boarding and reduce wait times at ticket machines. Parking is available at Metrorail stations for $4.50 when purchased at Ticket Vending Machines or $4.77 through the PayByPhone app. Station parking garages operate from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m., though the Earlington Heights garage remains accessible 24 hours daily.

Parking Available at Select Stations
Overnight parking is permitted at three locations: Earlington Heights, Okeechobee, and South Miami garages, according to transit officials. The parking facilities are exclusively available for Miami-Dade Transit customers who board Metrorail or Metrobus services. Officials didn't specify how many parking spaces are available at each location or whether capacity limits affect availability during peak travel periods.
Airport Access Remains Affordable Option
The $2.25 fare represents significant savings compared to airport parking rates and ride-hailing services, particularly for travelers making frequent trips to MIA. Transit officials said the Orange Line serves as a reliable connection for both passengers and airport employees. Riders can check real-time arrival information and plan their airport trips using Moovit, which provides schedule updates and route guidance for Miami-Dade's Metrorail system.
