North West Railway Advances Jaipur-Rewari Corridor
Railway Board sanctions ₹5.73 crore survey for 191-km Jaipur-Rewari line via Neemrana
Jaipur-Rewari Rail Survey Gets ₹5.73 Crore
Railway officials approved a final location survey for a new 191-kilometer rail line connecting Jaipur to Rewari via Neemrana, with ₹5.73 crore sanctioned for the work. The Railway Board's approval marks a significant step toward creating an alternative corridor between Jaipur and Delhi, officials said. The project aims to ease congestion on the existing Jaipur-Delhi route through Alwar-Rewari, which currently experiences heavy traffic pressure and delays.

Industrial Corridor Drives New Route
The proposed track will pass through Neemrana, a crucial hub within the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor that hosts numerous domestic and international companies. Railway officials said the new connectivity is expected to provide industries with affordable and fast logistics facilities, potentially boosting production and exports in the region. The North Western Railway's General Manager will conduct the survey work, according to the Railway Board. Towns including Kotputli, Shahpura, and Behror have long lacked direct rail connectivity and will benefit from this project.

Survey to Determine Final Alignment
The ₹5.73 crore budget will fund the final location survey to determine the precise alignment of the 191-kilometer route. Officials said the survey will assess terrain, land acquisition requirements, and engineering challenges along the corridor. After the survey is completed, a Detailed Project Report will be prepared and submitted to the Railway Board for approval before construction can commence. Railway officials didn't provide a timeline for when the survey work will begin or how long it will take to complete.
DPR Approval Needed Before Construction
Once the survey work concludes, the North Western Railway will prepare a comprehensive Detailed Project Report outlining construction costs, timelines, and technical specifications. The DPR must receive Railway Board approval before any construction activities can start, officials said. A specific timeline for DPR submission and approval wasn't provided. Railway officials said the project represents a significant step toward strengthening the industrial and transportation infrastructure of the region.
Alternative Route to Ease Congestion
The new line will serve as an alternative corridor between Jaipur and Delhi, offering passengers a new route while reducing travel distance and time. Railway officials said the initiative is expected to foster development, create employment opportunities, and improve overall connectivity in areas that have been underserved by the rail network. Riders can track rail service updates and plan trips using Moovit, which provides real-time information for transit systems across India.
