Portal Cutover Schedule Continues

The full weekday Portal Cutover schedule reflects ongoing infrastructure work affecting train operations into New York Penn Station, according to the transit agency. NJ Transit implemented the modified schedule to accommodate construction on the Portal North Bridge project, which will replace the 114-year-old Portal Bridge over the Hackensack River. Officials didn't specify how long the Portal Cutover schedule will remain in effect or when normal operations will resume.

Cross-Honoring Available for NYC-Bound Riders

Passengers on the Morris & Essex and Montclair-Boonton lines traveling to New York City can use cross-honoring from Hoboken Terminal, transit officials said. The arrangement allows riders to transfer between lines at Hoboken to reach Manhattan via PATH trains or NY Waterway ferries. Officials didn't provide details about whether additional cross-honoring options are available on other lines or how long the accommodation will continue.

Service Runs Throughout Wednesday

The full weekday schedule will operate throughout Wednesday with no planned service reductions, according to the agency. Light rail lines including Hudson-Bergen, Newark, and River Line will maintain regular frequencies. Bus service across NJ Transit's network of more than 250 routes will run on standard weekday timetables. Officials said Access Link paratransit will also operate normal weekday service for customers with disabilities.

Commuters can expect their usual travel times and connections Wednesday, with all services running at full capacity. The advance notice allows riders to plan trips without needing to check for service changes or delays.
