MTA Adds Express Service for Orioles Opening Day
MTA adds express shuttle buses from Glen Burnie and Timonium to Camden Station for game
MTA Adds Service for Orioles Opening Day March 26
Baltimore transit riders heading to the Orioles' season opener at Camden Yards on Thursday, March 26th, will have expanded service options, Maryland Transit Administration officials said. The agency will run express shuttle buses starting at noon from Glen Burnie/Cromwell and Timonium Fairgrounds directly to Camden Station, supplementing regular Light Rail and Metro Subway service. Officials said the enhanced service aims to accommodate the expected surge in ridership for the afternoon game.

Enhanced Transit Access for Baseball Season Opener
The service modifications are part of MTA's ongoing efforts to support major sporting events in downtown Baltimore, transit officials said. Opening Day typically draws tens of thousands of fans to the ballpark, creating peak demand on transit routes serving the Camden Yards area. The agency coordinates with the Orioles organization to plan service levels for high-attendance games throughout the season. Officials said riders are encouraged to arrive early and stay late to avoid the heaviest crowding periods before and after the game.
Multiple Routes Serve Camden Yards Area
Light Rail will operate all available trains on a regular weekday schedule, with post-game service continuing from Camden Yards, officials confirmed. Express shuttle bus riders returning after the game must board at the Convention Center Light Rail stop rather than Camden Station. Metro Subway passengers can take trains to Charles Center station and walk to the ballpark, with free parking available at Metro stations. Several local bus routes including CityLinks Navy, Yellow, Brown and LocalLinks 51, 54, 73, 76 and 94 provide service to or near Camden Yards. MARC Penn Line will operate on a regular weekday schedule, with connections to Light Rail available at Penn Station.

Service Begins Noon on Game Day
The express shuttle buses will begin operating at noon on March 26th, providing direct service from the Glen Burnie/Cromwell and Timonium Fairgrounds park-and-ride lots to Camden Station, officials said. Regular Light Rail, Metro Subway, and bus service will follow standard weekday schedules throughout the day. Officials didn't specify when the express shuttle service will end after the game, though post-game transit service typically continues until crowds disperse.
Fare Payment Required on All Services
Riders must pay fares on all transit modes serving the game, including the express shuttles, Light Rail, Metro Subway, local buses, and MARC trains, officials said. The CharmPass app provides contactless payment for MTA services. Officials said riders should plan their trips in advance and allow extra travel time due to expected heavy ridership. Moovit provides real-time arrival information and trip planning for all MTA routes serving Camden Yards.
