Miami Metrorail Boosts Service for Soccer Matches
Miami-Dade Transit increases Metrorail frequency to 15 minutes for Inter Miami games
Metrorail Adds Service for Inter Miami Games
Miami-Dade Transit will run more frequent Metrorail trains and extend service hours for Inter Miami CF home games at NU Stadium at Miami Freedom Park, starting with the inaugural match Saturday, April 4. The Orange Line will operate every 15 minutes throughout game days, while Green Line frequency increases to 15 minutes after 5 p.m. between Palmetto and Earlington Heights stations. The Miami Intermodal Center at Miami International Airport, located a 10-minute walk from the stadium, serves as the primary transit access point.

Transit Access Supports New Stadium Opening
The service enhancements support the opening of NU Stadium at Miami Freedom Park, the new home venue for Inter Miami CF. Miami-Dade Transit designed the expanded service to accommodate soccer fans traveling to matches, with the Miami Intermodal Center positioned approximately half a mile from the stadium entrance. Inter Miami ambassadors will guide fans along the designated walking route from the station to the venue. Transit agencies typically increase service frequency for major sporting events to reduce traffic congestion and provide reliable transportation options for large crowds.
Multiple Transit Options Available
Eight Metrobus routes serve the Miami International Airport station, including routes 7, 20, 36, 37, 42, 57, 150, and 338, providing connections throughout Miami-Dade County. ADA shuttle service will operate from the Miami Trolley Stop at the Intermodal Center directly to NU Stadium on game days. Special Transit Services offers door-to-door transportation for registered special needs guests at $3.50 per person per trip. Standard Metrorail and Metrobus fares are $2.25 per ride, $5.65 for a 1-Day Pass, and $29.25 for a 7-Day Pass.

Service Begins with Inaugural Match
The enhanced transit service takes effect Saturday, April 4, coinciding with the first match at NU Stadium at Miami Freedom Park. Miami-Dade Transit will maintain the increased Orange Line frequency throughout game days, with Green Line enhancements beginning at 5 p.m. Officials didn't specify whether the service pattern will continue for all home matches throughout the season or if adjustments may occur based on ridership demand.
Payment and Planning Options
Riders can pay fares using EASY Cards, the GO Miami-Dade Transit app, contactless payments, or ticket vending machines at stations. The GO Miami-Dade Transit app allows passengers to plan trips, track services in real-time, and purchase mobile passes. Moovit provides real-time Metrorail and Metrobus updates, helping fans navigate Miami-Dade Transit's network to reach NU Stadium and return home after matches.
