Miami Metrorail Boosts Service for Soccer Games
Miami-Dade Transit increases Metrorail frequency to 15 minutes for Inter Miami games
Miami Metrorail Adds Service for Inter Miami Games
Miami-Dade Transit will boost Metrorail service for Inter Miami CF games at the new NU Stadium at Miami Freedom Park, starting with the inaugural match on Saturday, April 4, 2026. The Orange Line will run every 15 minutes throughout game days, while Green Line service increases to 15-minute intervals after 5 p.m. between Palmetto and Earlington Heights stations. The Miami Intermodal Center at Miami International Airport sits just a 10-minute walk from the stadium, making it the most convenient transit access point.

Stadium Location Drives Transit Planning
The new stadium's location near Miami International Airport positions the Miami Intermodal Center as the primary transit hub for soccer fans, according to Miami-Dade Transit. Inter Miami ambassadors will guide fans along the designated half-mile walking route from the station to the venue. The enhanced service reflects growing demand for public transportation to major sporting events in South Florida, where parking constraints and traffic congestion often challenge fans driving to games. Transit agencies nationwide have increasingly coordinated with sports venues to provide dedicated game-day service.
Multiple Routes Serve Stadium Access
Eight Metrobus routes serve the Miami International Airport station, including routes 7, 20, 36, 37, 42, 57, 150, and 338, providing connections throughout Miami-Dade County. ADA shuttle service will operate from the Miami Trolley Stop at the Intermodal Center directly to NU Stadium on game days. Special Transit Services offers door-to-door transportation for registered special needs guests at $3.50 per person per trip. Standard Metrorail and Metrobus fares are $2.25 per ride, $5.65 for a 1-Day Pass, and $29.25 for a 7-Day Pass.

Service Begins with Inaugural Match
The enhanced transit service takes effect with Inter Miami CF's first game at NU Stadium on April 4, 2026, and will continue for all home matches. Miami-Dade Transit said the extended hours and increased frequency will accommodate fans arriving before games and departing after evening matches. Officials didn't specify whether service adjustments will vary based on match start times or attendance levels.
Payment Options and Trip Planning
Riders can pay fares using EASY Cards, the GO Miami-Dade Transit app, contactless payments, or ticket vending machines at stations. The GO Miami-Dade Transit app allows fans to plan trips, track services in real-time, and purchase mobile passes. Moovit provides real-time Metrorail and Metrobus updates to help fans navigate Miami-Dade Transit's network on game days.
