Miami Metromover Maintenance Pauses Two Loops in April
Miami Metromover suspends Omni and Brickell loops April 11 and 25 for maintenance work
Miami Metromover Suspends Two Loops April 11, 25
Miami's Metromover will suspend service on its Omni and Brickell loops on two Fridays in April for scheduled infrastructure maintenance, Miami-Dade Transit announced. The suspensions will occur April 11 and April 25, 2026, affecting riders who use the automated rail system to travel through downtown Miami, Brickell, and the Omni area. Free shuttle buses will replace service on both suspended loops at all affected stations, maintaining the system's fare-free model.

Inner Loop Maintains Normal Service
The Metromover's three-loop system typically operates continuously throughout downtown Miami, providing free automated rail service to thousands of daily riders. While the Omni and Brickell loops undergo maintenance, the Inner Loop will continue normal operations during both maintenance periods, according to Miami-Dade Transit. The temporary suspensions are necessary to accommodate infrastructure work on the Omni and Brickell loop systems. Transit officials said the maintenance work requires full suspension of service on the affected loops to ensure worker safety and project efficiency.
Free Shuttle Buses Replace Suspended Routes
Replacement shuttle buses will serve all stations along both suspended routes at no cost to riders, Miami-Dade Transit confirmed. The buses will stop at each Metromover station on the Omni and Brickell loops, maintaining the same fare-free service model riders expect from the automated rail system. Officials said the shuttle buses will follow the general path of the suspended loops to minimize disruption. However, passengers should expect longer travel times compared to the Metromover's typical service, as buses navigate street-level traffic rather than elevated guideways.
Maintenance Scheduled for Two Fridays
The first maintenance period will take place Friday, April 11, 2026, with the second scheduled for Friday, April 25, 2026. Miami-Dade Transit selected Fridays for the work to minimize impact on weekday commuters, though officials didn't specify whether the suspensions will last the entire day or only certain hours. The agency said additional details about specific suspension times will be released closer to the maintenance dates.

Riders Should Plan Extra Travel Time
Passengers who regularly use the Omni and Brickell loops should plan for longer travel times on both affected dates, transit officials advised. The replacement shuttle buses will operate at street level rather than on elevated guideways, which may result in delays due to traffic conditions. Riders can track real-time shuttle bus locations and receive service alerts through Moovit, which provides updates for Miami Metromover service including schedule changes during the temporary suspensions.
