Miami-Dade Extends Rail Hours for Ultra Fest
Miami-Dade Transit will run extended Metrorail and Metromover service for the 2026 Ultra Music Festival at Bayfront Park from March 27 through March 29, transit officials said. Trains will operate from 5 a.m. until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with service ending at midnight Sunday. The agency's encouraging festivalgoers to leave their cars behind and use public transit to reach downtown Miami.
Extended Service Details
The service extensions are designed to accommodate the massive crowds expected at one of the world's largest electronic music festivals. Ultra Music Festival typically draws hundreds of thousands of attendees to downtown Miami over three days each March. Miami-Dade Transit has provided extended service for the event in previous years, adjusting schedules to match festival hours that often run late into the night. The enhanced transit service aims to reduce traffic congestion and parking challenges in the downtown area during the festival.

Train Frequencies and Routes
Green and Orange Line trains will run every 30 minutes for a combined frequency of 15 minutes between Earlington Heights and Dadeland South Stations. The Metromover Inner Loop will operate under modified service, sharing the same track and direction as the Omni and Brickell loops. Festivalgoers can take the Orange Line from Miami International Airport directly to Government Center Metrorail station, providing a direct connection to the festival venue. Transit riders can pay fares using EASY Card or contactless payments.

Bus Detours and Parking
Metrobus routes 3, 9, 11, 77, 100, 101, and 203 will be detoured starting at 9 p.m. Thursday, March 26, until 6 a.m. Monday, March 30. All buses servicing downtown Miami, Miami Beach, and adjacent areas may experience delays due to road closures and heavy traffic. Parking at Metrorail garages or surface lots costs $4.50 for the entire day and can be paid at Ticket Vending Machines or via the PayByPhone app.
Rider Information
Transit officials said riders should expect larger crowds than normal on trains and at stations throughout the festival weekend. The agency recommends arriving early to allow extra time for travel. Moovit provides real-time updates for Miami-Dade Transit routes, helping festivalgoers plan their trips and track train arrivals during the extended service hours.
