Program Targets Licensed Operators
The temporary license program is available to luxury sedan, stretch and super stretch limousine, and passenger motor carrier operators currently licensed by any state or political subdivision, according to the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works. Existing Miami-Dade license holders who want to expand their fleets for the event can also apply. Miami-Dade County regulates for-hire limousines countywide under Chapter 31, Article VI of the County Code, requiring all entities providing limousine service to hold a for-hire license and each vehicle to have an operating permit.
Walk-In Applications Accepted
Applications can be submitted in person Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Department of Transportation and Public Works office located at 601 NW 1st Court, 18th Floor, Miami, officials said. Walk-in applications will be accepted, and same-day decal issuance will be available for applications that meet all requirements.
