MBTA Offers Express Trains for Brazil-France Match
MBTA schedules four express trains from South Station to Gillette Stadium for March 26, 2026 match
MBTA Adds Event Trains for Brazil-France Match
Boston commuters heading to Gillette Stadium for the Brazil vs. France Road to 26 Friendly Match can ride special event trains from South Station, the MBTA announced. Four express trains will run on Thursday, March 26, 2026, with $30 round-trip tickets available exclusively through the mTicket app. The event trains offer a direct connection to the international soccer match while also providing all-day access to the entire Commuter Rail network.
Event Trains Supplement Regular Service
The special event service addresses anticipated high demand for the international friendly match at Gillette Stadium. Transit agencies typically operate dedicated event trains for major sporting events and concerts to reduce traffic congestion and provide reliable transportation options. The MBTA has run similar event service for Patriots games and other stadium events in the past. Officials said the dedicated trains allow fans to avoid parking hassles while ensuring adequate capacity for the expected crowds.
Tickets Sold by Boarding Groups
Round-trip tickets cost $30 and are sold by boarding groups labeled "Group A" or "Group B" through the mTicket app only. Regular Commuter Rail tickets and passes won't be accepted on these event trains. The event ticket also provides all-day validity across the entire Commuter Rail network on March 26. Due to anticipated high demand, officials said no refunds or exchanges will be available, and ticket sales will stop once maximum capacity is reached. Passengers must comply with the stadium's bag policy, as non-compliant items won't be permitted on trains.

Express Service Begins at 12:45 PM
Trains will depart express from South Station starting at 12:45 PM with no stops at Back Bay or Dedham Corporate Center, officials said. After the match, return trains will begin departing 30 minutes after the final whistle on a first-come, first-served basis. Several regular Franklin/Foxboro Line, Fairmount Line, and Providence/Stoughton Line services will be modified or cancelled on March 26 to accommodate the event trains. Officials didn't specify which regular trains will be affected or provide detailed schedules for the modified service.
Riders Should Plan Ahead
Passengers should purchase tickets in advance through the mTicket app, as capacity is limited and sales will close when trains reach maximum capacity. Officials said riders should arrive early at South Station to ensure boarding, particularly for later departures closer to match time. Return service operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so fans may face waits after the match.
