BCT Launches RideBCT App for Easier Transit Access
Broward County Transit consolidates trip planning, real-time tracking, and mobile payments into one app
BCT Renames Mobile App to RideBCT
Broward County Transit riders can now plan trips, track buses in real time, and pay fares through a single mobile app. The transit agency rebranded its BCT Mobile Ticketing App as RideBCT, consolidating features that previously required separate platforms. The app's available for download on Apple App Store and Google Play, transit officials said.

Streamlined Experience for Transit Users
The rebranding reflects a broader effort by transit agencies to simplify rider experiences through integrated digital tools. BCT designed RideBCT specifically for its service area, combining Google-powered trip planning with mobile payment capabilities. The consolidation eliminates the need for riders to switch between multiple apps for different transit functions. Transit systems nationwide have increasingly moved toward all-in-one mobile platforms to improve accessibility and convenience for passengers.
Payment and Tracking Features
RideBCT supports Apple Pay and Google Pay for fare purchases, allowing riders to use existing digital wallets. The app provides real-time bus location tracking, helping passengers time their arrivals at stops more accurately. BCT buses also share location data with third-party platforms, making real-time information available across multiple services. The Google integration powers the app's trip planning function, calculating routes and schedules for riders throughout Broward County's transit network.

Reduced Fare Registration Process
Reduced fare pass registration is now available through in-person visits to BCT service locations. Riders seeking reduced fares must bring original proof of age, disability, or student status along with a valid government-issued photo ID to one of four registration sites: Broward Central Terminal, Lauderhill Transit Center, Northeast Transit Center, or Government Center West. A customer service agent creates the account during the visit. Officials didn't specify whether future updates will allow online registration.
Regional Transit Integration
The RideBCT launch comes as South Florida transit agencies expand digital coordination. The SoFloGO mobile app connects Broward County Transit with Miami-Dade Transit, Palm Tran, and Tri-Rail on a single platform for regional trip planning. Riders can sign up for BCT's Transit Flash eNewsletter for service updates. Real-time tracking apps like Moovit provide additional options for monitoring BCT bus locations and planning trips across the transit system.
